    Wine trip to Bzenec

    Saturday, 17th August

    Dear expats,

the year has come and gone and here we go again with our traditional August wine trip to South Moravia. Some of us may be richer, others more beautiful or even wise and if not, don't despair, we'll forget our worries over a glass of good wine:)

    What awaits us?

A comfortable train journey from Brno main station at 9.28 am (Meeting point: Main train station, 9:10 am) to the picturesque Bzenec in the Slovacky wine sub-region. We will enjoy the view from one of the most beautiful places in the whole region, the vineyard-covered hill Starý hrad, with the chapel of St. Florián. We will see the old Jewish cemetery with the ceremonial hall and then finally the open arms of the Kněží Hora winery await us.

Believe me, we have a lot to look forward to. Iconic wines of exceptional quality, care for the vineyards hand in hand with professionalism and finally a human and pro-client approach. The last time the owner called me with enthusiasm, speaking about the mussels that they had found in the vineyard from the period when this part of Moravia was flooded by the sea and what a unique influence this has on the taste profile of the wine.

It is no small thing that the Kněží Hora winery is one of the best in Slovácko, and town of Bzenec is also home to the Chateau Bzenec winery. It is here, in the backdrop of the chateau park, that the festival Wines from Castles takes placeAdmission is free, so those who still have the appetite can enjoy great wines from various chateau wineries in Europe (paid separately for each wine sample).
